Holiday

I don’t want to be driving London buses everyday
I get a trickle that they claim is equal pay
I can’t take Mary-Jane to work and face the rainy day
I need a red-stripe and the sun to find my way…

Oooh what a waste
The sun’s at home while I stand in the rain
Ooooh what a day
A better pay could help me get away

Taking me holidays
I'm off to see the sun and sip a cool drink in the shade
Can't take another day facing
Greasy fish and chips in broken-down council estates

When I sit down with Jane
I feel the sun again

I miss the surf and coconuts
It beats your Leicester Square
A jug o’ rum gives me a kick much more than ale

A London pub in Brixton is no match for what I say
And if you didn't get it, here it is again:

Taking me holidays
I'm off to see the sun and sip a cool drink in the shade
Can't take another day facing
Greasy fish and chips in broken-down council estates
